Increase in Wages from October 2011Adult rate will increase from £5.93 to £6.08 per hour 18-20 yrs from £4.92 to £4.98 per hour 16-17 yrs from £3.64 to £3.68 per hour Apprentices from £2.50 to £2.60 per hr From 1st October cigarette vending machines have been banned, pubs wanting to sell them will have to do so under the counter. This is to stop underage children from buying them from the machines as many are unsupervised. Also having an advert promoting cigarettes could mean a fine of up to £5,000 or a 6 month imprisonment or both. It seems the government are cracking down with a firm foot on the selling of tobacco. Does this mean then that Landlords will charge the same price for cigarettes?? Why not Save for a Rainy VAT Day It’s always raining when your VAT bill comes a knocking, so why not save a little every week or monthly and cut down on the stress. |
