Xmas gifts for licensees from the BII

Wireless Energy Meter – a bit topical and for just under £38 you can see which appliances are costing you the most money and encourage you to put things on stand by and disconnect things and maybe use less often .
I know in my house if the washer, dishwasher & the kettle are all on at the same time the dial just whizzes round, so I try not to use them altogether!

New Tills!! – If yours are old & a bit “Open all Hours” “… watch those fingers Granville!” you could benefit from Santa bringing you a new till. Stock reports will be more accurate & business analysis will be better too!

Gift Vouchers – not for you but for your pub…why not offer your customers some gift vouchers from now up to Xmas, it would be like a little savings plan, maybe £5 to £15 a week for the next four weeks and that covers Xmas dinner and or drinks etc…might be an idea!

Energy price increases

I don’t know about you but I’m going to be looking at alternative prices for my energy supplier as I’m with British Gas & already pay a fortune and I haven’t even got a pub! They are raising their prices by 7% for both electric & gas from 10th Dec 2010 which could mean up to £7,000 a year more for pubs, which of course will have a knock on effect on your bottom line. You would think in these hard times they would stave off price increases so get yourself on the internet and have a browse around. The Morning Advertiser has recommended using a broker as the commercial market is fraught with complexity.

A little snippet of information which you might not have known is if a licensee takes over a temporary site so you are out of contract with your energy supplier, you get charged from 14.95p per unit straight away. However in a contract the charge is between 7.5p & 10p per unit which is a big difference and brokers are the ones that can help you make the right decision. If you would like to speak to a local broker then e-mail me at michelle@innscribeuk.com and we will make sure you get the best advice.
